Hi, I’m Ayun.
I’ve lived in Aljezur most of my life and grew up spending my time outdoors, riding bikes, exploring trails, and getting to know the area.
I started racing downhill in 2019, which shaped how I ride, but what always stuck with me most was flow and long days on the bike.
Southwest Trails grew out of that: simple rides on the best local trails, at a pace that feels good.
Small groups, local feel
This isn’t a big operation. It’s personal, flexible, and kept simple on purpose, so the day can match the people riding, and conditions.
Keeping groups small makes it easier to ride at a comfortable pace, choose lines that suit everyone, and adjust the route as the day unfolds.
More than just riding
The best rides here aren’t only about the trail. They’re about the space around it. The views, the ocean air, the quiet backroads, and the feeling of being properly out there.
It’s about exploring the area as much as riding it. Slowing down when it makes sense and letting the day unfold naturally instead of sticking to a strict plan. That balance is what makes the rides feel memorable.
The vision
The vision is simple: take people out for a proper day on the bike. Good trails, good vibes, whether you love hardcore fast descents, or a relaxed pace with stunning views.
Ride through the landscapes around the Aljezur coast, and Monchique mountain, explore hidden corners of the area, and take the time to look around. From coastal viewpoints to forest singletrack, with the chance to spot wildlife along the way.
It’s not about rushing or proving anything. It’s about having a good time outside and finishing the ride with a “that was a great day” feeling.
